Hi there! Happy Sunday. It’s hard to believe that it is December 2nd; time is truly flying. Today’s post is all about simple layering techniques using the the Altenew Brilliant Baubles Stamp and Die Set. This set is absolutely gorgeous and allows for so many design possibilities. To be honest, I had a hard time trying to settle on an idea.
Let’s dive in!
This blog contains paid advertising banners and affiliate links. Banners and affiliate links may be used at no additional cost to you. This means I get paid a small commission when you shop with a company using a link I provide. I am not paid by any company to use their products (all products used in my posts have been purchased – by me) and should this ever happen, I will disclose that in a specific post.
When I start a project I almost ALWAYS start by choosing a color scheme. I wanted to do something just a bit different so after settling on three colors, I decided to create some decorative dots using Nuvo Crystal Drops. Word to the wise, placing the drops on a slick surface such as a glass mat or on a laminated sheet is the way to go. I dropped mine straight on to card stock scraps. It worked in the end but I am sure that they would have peeled off MUCH easier had I used a different surface.
After creating my decorative dots (and letting them dry overnight), I began my stamping. I decided to go with the traditional round ornament. I stamped three separate ornaments onto scrap pieces of card stock using Altenew Crisp Dye Inks in Frayed Leaf, Forest Garden, Frosty Pink, Coral Berry, Buttercream and Warm Sunshine.
Frayed Leaf and Warm Sunshine are two of my absolutely favorite Altenew Inks!
After stamp the images, I die cut each ornament and adhered the decorative dots. Each image was adhered to a thin strip of card stock which I embossed using a Cuttlebug Swiss Dots Embossing folder.
The sentiment (so elegant) also from the Brilliant Baubles Stamp Set was stamped using Altenew Jet Black Crisp Dye Ink and heat embossed using Ranger Clear Embossing Powder.
There you have it folks. A simple, no fuss layered Christmas card. Hope you enjoyed! Have a great evening and an even better week ahead.
