The end of the year for many, is a time for reflection. It is a time to look back and take stock of everything that has taken place (good, bad and ugly) and figure out how to make the next year better.
For me, this year especially is a time to reflect on how far I’ve come and how I got to where I am today. I am so grateful for the people that have encouraged me to step out of my comfort zone and purse my dreams. Gratitude, that is the inspiration behind this project.
Let’s get started!

For this project I chose to use two different stamp and die sets. First up, the Altenew Bottleful Of stamp and die set. I love how the stamp set includes both bottle and label images.
The second set Painted Poppy is also from Altenew. Painted Poppy is a versatile set allowing for the use of just the image outline which can be colored with ink, markers, watercolor etc., or combining the outline and solid image for no fuss full color stamping .
I started out with a piece of Neenah Classic Crest 110 lb cut to 4 1/4 in x 11 in. I then used my Scor-Buddy (my new favorite tool) to score my card stock at 5 1/2 in to create a top-folding 4 1/4 in x 5 1/2 in card base.
For my card background, I chose this beautiful white pattern from the Tonic Studios December Skies Embossed card pack. I cut the embossed card down to 4 1/4 in x 5 1/2 in and adhered it to the card base using Tombow Mono Dots Adhesive.
I used my go to Altenew Permanent Black ink to stamp multiple flowers and leaves (not shown). I like to stamp more than I need just in case I make an error. I typically save the extras for future projects. Also not shown, I used Altenew Heart Beat ink to fill in the poppy with color.
Next up I used the corresponding dies to cut out the flowers. Initially I wasn’t sure where I would place the flower, so you will see that part of the die is not on the card stock.
The bottles (four total) were cut from Gina K. Designs Black Onyx and Cherry Red 100 lb card -stock.
I wanted it to appear that the bottles were sitting behind a frame so I used a die to cut out a frame(foam tape applied to the back). I played around with the placement of the bottles and flowers until I found a look that I was happy with. I taped the three bottle images together to keep them aligned and prevent shifting. I also glued the flower to the back of the black bottle.
Once the bottles were aligned, I added adhesive to the back and adhered them to the card base and trimmed them so that they were even with the bottom of the card.
The sentiments I chose were from the Bottleful Of stamp set. I like how the words fit perfectly into the oval label shape. The sentiments were die cut using a sentiment die and the corresponding label die from the stamp set. Foam tape was placed on the backs of both and they were adhered to the card.
There you have it. The finished card is simple and elegant and would be a great way to say thank you to someone that has had a positive impact on your life.
Thanks for stopping by and don’t forget to spread kindness! – Ouma
