Welcome! Thanks so much for stopping by. Today, I am sharing a video that is all about embossing and celebrating the hard work and dedication of graduates.

If you’ve visited before, you’ll notice that this post will look a lot different. I am working on including more video’s so that you can see the “live process”. Today’s post features one card, but going forward I will have two or three cards so that you can see more/options possibilities. Having said that, I hope you enjoy! LET’S GO!!
It seems like I belong to a zillion Facebook Craft Groups. There are some SUPER TALENTED men and women out there. Over the last few weeks I have seen some absolutely gorgeous handmade prom gowns. This card is in part inspired by some of the designs that I have seen as well as the beautiful cards created in the Progressive Cardmaking Class offered via Altenew Academy.
Using embossing powder is a great way to add large pops of color to a card. In this example, I used gold embossing powder to achieve this effect. I don’t think you can ever go wrong using gold and black; they are an ABSOLUTE CLASSIC color combination! In addition to using embossing powder, I also used a strip patterned paper to anchor the die cut pieces.
The card features the Dare To Dream Stamp Set from Altenew. I think it is perfect for sending a message of congratulations to anyone (not just graduates). Side note: The graduation cap is from a stand alone die set (link below).
I started the card by heat embossing the images on to black card stock. Each image was then heat embossed with gold embossing powder and cut using a stitched square die. Black card stock and gold pattered paper were adhered to a 4 1/4 in x 5 1/2 white note card using strong adhesive. Foam tape was added to each square and they were placed on the card. The CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR SUCCESS sentiment (also from the Dare To Dream Stamp set) was also heat embossed on black card stock using gold embossing powder. The sentiment and graduation cap were adhered to the card using a strong liquid adhesive.
That’s it! A pretty simple card with beautiful embossed detail.
I hope that you take a few minutes to check out the video so that you can see how the card comes together.
Thanks again for stopping by and as always, Don’t forget to SPREAD KINDNESS! – Ouma
