Card Quickie – Haute Wedding Dress

June 10, 2019

Hi there! Ouma here bringing you a card quickie. Card Quickie? What’s that? I’m glad you asked. A card quickie is a super short blog post, no videos. Just a few pictures and simple instructions. Something to provide quick inspiration when you need a last minute card or to help you plan a future project.

This blog contains paid advertising banners and affiliate links (Shopping/Affiliate Disclosure).  Banners and affiliate links may be used at no additional cost to you.  This means that I may get paid a small commission when you shop with a company using a link I provide.

I am not paid by any company to use their products (all products used in my posts have been purchased – by me) and should this ever happen, I will disclose that in a specific post.

Ready? Let’s Go!

The card starts with the Haute Wedding Dress from the Ton Stamps being stamped onto white card stock using Altenew Obsidian Black Ink

After stamping the image, the panel was trimmed using the 3.875 x 5.875 in Matt Die. The bodice and lace trim stamps from the set were placed in my stamp platform and aligned with the image. Embossing ink was added, the panel was covered using an anti static tool and then the images were stamped. Blue embossing powder added and then set using a heat tool.

After embossing I used an Altenew Arctic Blue Artist marker to add more color to the bodice as well as outlining the “folds” and bottom of the gown.

I used a Wink of Stella Glitter brush to add shine and create the illusion of a sheer outer layer to the dress.

Next, additional panels were cut and layered together using a combination of foam tape and strong liquid adhesive. The best wishes (from the stamp set) was stamped onto a scrap piece of card stock, trimmed and then adhered to the card with foam tape for dimension. The last step was to add a few flatback pearls to the card.

There you have it! Easy Peasy. A quick card with beautiful details. Switch up the sentiment and this card could easily work as an invitation to a bridal shower or even as a thank you card from a bride.

Thank you so much for stopping by. I truly hope that you’ve seen something here that inspires you / sparks ideas and gets your creative juices flowing. As always don’t forget to spread kindness. – Ouma
