Card Quickie – Everlasting Happiness

July 14, 2019

Hello! Thank you so much for stopping by.

Today I have another quick card design for you. The stamp set featured is the Everlasting Happiness set from Altenew. This stamp set is just adorable! I love the way that the flowers are arranged in a frame. I also like that the set is versatile in that (when positioned correctly) the flowers can be used to create lovely borders and backgrounds. I also like the simplicity of the sentiments which can work for a number of different occasions. Today’s card however focuses on LOVE.

Let’s dive right in!

This blog contains paid advertising banners and affiliate links (Shopping/Affiliate Disclosure).  Banners and affiliate links may be used at no additional cost to you.  This means that I may get paid a small commission when you shop with a company using a link I provide.

I am not paid by any company to use their products (all products used in my posts have been purchased – by me) and should this ever happen, I will disclose that in a specific post.

I started the design by placing a piece of Neenah Solar White card stock (trimmed to 4 1/4 in x 5 1/2 in) into a stamp platform. Next, the large stamp from the set was inked using Altenew Jet Black Ink. Anti static powder was then applied to the entire front surface of the card panel.

After applying the powder the stamp was re-inked using Altenew Clear Embossing Ink. The image was re-stamped and then covered with clear embossing powder and set with a heat tool.

Next, color was added to the flowers and leaves using Altenew Artist Markers and colored pencils.

After coloring and shading the leaves and flowers I used blending brushes to apply Altenew Sea Glass ink to the center of the floral frame. The “Love Grows Here” sentiment from the stamp set was stamped in the center of the frame using Altenew Obsidian Black Ink.

Next, I chose a sentiment from the Altenew Forever in Love stamp set and stamped (using obsidian black ink) it inside a top folding A2 card ( 4 1/4 in x 5 1/2 in when folded). The card panel with the Love Grows Here sentiment was then adhered to the front of the A2 card panel using strong liquid adhesive. The final step was to apply clear droplets to the centers of the flowers and inside the floral frame.

That finishes up today’s card. What a simple yet beautifully subtle way to tell someone that you love them.

Thank you again for stopping by. I hope that you have seen something here that inspires you to create your own work of art.

As always, don’t forget to spread kindness! – Ouma
