Hello Friends! Ouma here. Today I am bringing you two cards that I created using the Simon Says Stamp August 2019 Card Kit – Party Like A Panda. I don’t think this set could get any more adorable.
In case you aren’t familiar, every month Simon Says Stamps puts out a card kit. The kit normally includes a full stamp set, card-stock, envelopes and patterned paper. There are also lovely extras included! This months kit also included a super cute Panda Die and a Spetrum Noir Sparkle Pen. This months kit is all about Panda’s and Celebrations.
My first card focuses on the cute little panda die included with the kit. I started by die cutting the panda multiple times out of the Black and White Card-stock included with the kit. I then used a mat frame die to cut patterned paper (included in the kit). The patterned paper was adhered to the front of an A2 size top folding card. Next, I stamped the balloon happy sentiment and the two tiny presents onto white card-stock and added color using Altenew Artist Markers.
After each of the images were colored, I used liquid adhesive to secure the panda. Next I stamped the large birthday sentiment with Altenew Ink, trimmed the card-stock and added foam adhesive to the back before mounting it on the card panel. The panda panel was then added to the top folding not card with liquid adhesive. The final step was adding a bit of sparkle using the Spectrum Noir Pen included in the kit. It’s a bit difficult to see in the pictures, but the letters in the HAPPY balloon as well as the ribbon and the dots on the gifts all have sparkle.
For my second card, I started by embossing stars on to a scrap piece of Simon Says Stamp Card-stock. After embossing I trimmed the cars stock using a mat die. The embossed piece was the adhered to an A2 sized top folding card. Next I stamped each present and the hats in the set (twice), added color with Altenew Artist Markers, Sparkle with the Spectrum Noir Pen and tiny white dots with a gelly roll pen and then cut them out.
The panda image and star ballon were stamped using Altenew Ink and die cut using a circle stitch die (sorry can’t remember where I got it – I threw the package away). The Party Time sentiment was also stamped with Altenew Ink.
After all of the images were die cut and colored, I attached the panda image (circle die cut) on top of the embossed card stock song liquid adhesive. I added foam tape to the two smallest gifts placing one in the panda’s hand and one in between its feet. All of the larger gifts were adhered using liquid adhesive except the largest one in the front. Foam adhesive was added to that image. Foam adhesive was also added to the back of the sentiment strip.
Aren’t these Panda’s just the cutest!!! I had lots of fun playing with this set and designing these cards. Absolutely perfect for birthday cards for young and old.
Thank you again for stopping by. I hope that you have seen something here that inspired you to create your own little works of art.
Until next time. Don’t forget to spread kindness! – Ouma
