Holiday Snowmen with Spellbinders November 2020 Small Die of the Month (Frankie Goes to the North Pole)

December 19, 2020

Hello There! Ouma here with three fun and festive Christmas Cards. These cards feature the Spellbinders November 2020 Small Die of the Month set which focuses on the CUTEST snowman. Like all of the Spellbinders Kits that I’ve worked with, this set has so many possibilities. I had a lot of fun working on these cards

I am not paid by any company to use their products (all products used in my posts have been purchased – by me) and should this ever happen, I will disclose that in a specific post.

As I mentioned in my previous post, I highly recommend that you check out Spellbinders Club Kits. They have a wide variety of quality products, you can subscribe to one or try a bundle to save a few dollars (which makes me very happy). Working with the kits is super easy. Each one comes with project inspiration so if you get stuck (like I sometimes do) or just want to put something together quickly without thinking about design you are completely covered!

Today I have three cards that I created with the November 2020 Small Die of the Month – Frankie Goes to the North Pole. If you’re not a subscriber don’t worry! You can still pick ups this adorable set and many others. These cards were easy to assemble. The biggest hurdle (not really that big) was die-cutting the pieces. I actually die-cut more than I needed so that I could have extra if I messed up, changed my mind or decided to make additional cards.

Like most of the cards that I create, this card is an A2 top folding card. The snowman, pole, sign and accessories were die cut out of various card stock. The snowman nose and top of the pole were cut out of white card stock (because I have tons of scraps) and colored using an artist marker from Altenew (Sunkissed – set linked below). Ski poles were cut out of mirrored card stock.

The hills were created using a stitched border die and the bases were cut using an A2 Layered Die set. The sentiment stamped on the patterned paper is from an older stamp set (Naughty & Nice Elves) from Simon Says Stamp! that is no longer available. Just about any sentiment (from any stamp set) could be used. Just check your stash and don’t be afraid to experiment.

The second card was created in similar fashion. It is also a top folding A2 style card. For this card I used mirrored card stock for the base. The background is patterned paper and the sentiment is also from the Naughty & Nice Elves Stamp Set. To add a bit of sparkle (although its difficult to see in the photo) I used an Aqua Shimmer Pen (linked below) on the snowman’s hat, scarf and his buttons.

For the third card (A2 top folding), I started out by doing some light ink blending to create the look of a pale blue sky (Altenew Arctic Blue). The sentiment is from the Simon Says Stamps! Critter Sweaters set. I wrapped silver twine around the blue base, added flat back pearls to the top and hills (using the hillside border die) to finish the card.

There you have have it! Another set of Christmas cards compliments of Spellbinders and their wonderful array of products. Thank you so much for stopping by. I hope that you have seen something here that inspires you to create your own little work of art. Until next time, don’t forget to spread kindness! – Ouma
