Hello! Hello! Hello! Ouma here and I am coming to you today with ideas inspired by a Crafty Friend of mine (I actually call her my Crafty Sister). She is super creative (makes everything from tumblers to T-shirts and Baby Items). She goes by the name of Crafty J. You can also find her on Facebook and Instagram.

I am not paid by any company to use their products (all products used in my posts have been purchased – by me) and should this ever happen, I will disclose that in a specific post.
We’ve known each other for quite a few years and used to work together. Every now and then I’d send her a message asking her about new products that I’d heard about. So much so that I started telling her that I was a bad influence (LOL). Well, a few weeks ago I learned about the new Cricut Mug Press and reached out to her to see if she had as well. We both were super excited and decided to purchase the Mug Press (I’m still a bad influence). That’s where the idea for this post comes in. Since we would both be using the Mug Press for the first time, my Crafty Sister suggested that we do a mug exchange (WHAT A WONDERFUL IDEA!!) and that is how I came up with the ideas for the card, mug and little purse featured here.
I love the idea of creating gift sets and thought it would be cute to create something that had craft related designs. I dug through my stamp and die collection and scoured all designs that I had available in Cricut Design Space. I knew that I had craft related stamp and dies, but I wasn’t sure what I had in Design Space. After searching for a while (I have hundreds of stamp and die sets), I found products from Concord & 9th and Spellbinders that matched a FREE image available to Cricut Access Members.
The beauty of these creations is that they can be used for some many occasions. You could have a craft party with your crafty friends, they can be used for table decorations/party favors and of course given as gifts. THE POSSIBILITIES ARE ENDLESS. Here is what I came up with and will be shipping off to my Crafty Sister.
The backdrop for today’s projects is Concord & 9th’s CRAFTY TURNABOUT™ STAMP SET. If you aren’t familiar with turnabout stamps, you can head to Concord & 9th’s website for more info and detailed How To Videos. I started out by trimming a piece of heavy white card stock to about 6″x6″. Next, using the turnabout stamp I inked the image four times. I followed this process three times (2 needed for the tiny purse and one for the card).
After stamping the images, I used Concord & 9th’s Everyday Purse Bundle to die cut the body of the purse. Luckily, I had extra pieces left over from a previous project (I always cut more than I need) so I didn’t have to cut the handles, heart, key and other finishing touches. One thing that I love about this little purse is that it really is so easy to assemble. Just make sure that you use strong liquid adhesive and you are good to go!
Another thing that I love is that you are not limited to using paper products to add details. The jump ring that I used to secure the heart and key is jewelry making wire!
To create the card, I started out with a top top folding A2 card using heavy white card stock. Next, I used dies included in the Spellbinders September 2019 – Express Yourself Card Kit of the Month to create this cute little message board (full kit no longer available but some elements can be found here).
I used A2 Dies to trim the background down creating a mat. Foam tape was added to the back of the mat and it was then placed on top of the folding card. The message board was secured to the front of the card using strong liquid adhesive.
Last but not least is the mug I created using the Cricut Mug Press. This was the easiest of the three and I am VERY HAPPY with how it turned out. You literally only have to locate an image, cut or draw using Infusible Ink transfer sheets, markers and or pens, apply and press. It really is just that easy. Best of all, the mug is dishwasher safe and you don’t have to worry about the image peeling OR sealing and waiting for it to cure in order to protect the image. Check out Cricut’s Blog to find more information about the Mug Press and How To Video’s.
There you have it. I hope you enjoyed this post. I know that I thoroughly enjoyed creating everything that you see. Thank you so much for stopping by. I hope that you have seen something here that inspires you to create your own little work of art. Until next time, don’t forget to spread kindness! – Ouma
